PART 1
The famous actress almost walked past him.
Almost.
The old man had been sitting outside the luxury restaurant for hours in the cold holding a paper cup of untouched coffee.
Most people ignored him completely.
Old jacket.
Gray beard.
Hands rough from years of labor.
When the actress finally exited surrounded by cameras and security—
the old man suddenly stood up.
Slowly.
Nervously.
— “Sofia…”
The actress stopped immediately.
Nobody called her that anymore.
Security moved toward him instantly.
— “Back away from her.”
But the old man didn’t move.
His eyes stayed fixed on her.
Then quietly—
— “I’m your father.”
The cameras around them exploded into noise.
The actress froze completely.
— “…What?”
The old man’s hands shook badly now.
OLD MAN:
— “I know I don’t deserve to say it.”
The actress laughed once.
Cold.
Disbelieving.
— “My father abandoned me before I could walk.”
The old man lowered his eyes immediately.
Like he expected that.
— “I know.”
Silence.
Painful silence.
Then finally—
his voice broke.
— “I spent thirty years trying to become the man I should’ve been before I lost you.”
The actress looked suddenly emotional now.
Not because she believed him.
Because part of her already did.
PART 2
The restaurant entrance stayed frozen in silence while cameras continued flashing around them.
The actress stared at the old man carefully now.
— “Why now?”
The old man swallowed hard.
OLD MAN:
— “Because I found out I’m dying.”
The crowd around them became quieter instantly.
The old man looked ashamed.
— “And I couldn’t die without telling you the truth.”
The actress crossed her arms tightly.
Trying not to break emotionally.
— “You left us starving.”
The old man nodded slowly.
— “I left because I was weak.”
— “Not because I didn’t love you.”
Tears filled the actress’s eyes now.
The old man stepped backward slightly.
— “I’m not asking you to forgive me.”
— “I just needed you to know…”
— “I watched every movie you ever made.”
The actress suddenly looked away emotionally.
Because her entire life—
she imagined her father forgot she existed.
And now this broken old man was standing in front of her
remembering everything.
The old man slowly turned to leave.
Then suddenly—
— “…Wait.”
He stopped immediately.
Without turning around.
ACTRESS:
— “Did you really watch all of them?”
The old man closed his eyes.
Then quietly smiled for the first time.
