PART 1
SPLASH!
The woman disappeared beneath the raging water.
People screamed from the bridge.
Nobody moved.
The current was too strong.
The river carried branches.
Debris.
Mud.
The woman surfaced for a second.
Then vanished again.
A crowd gathered.
Phones recording.
Voices shouting.
But nobody jumped.
Then a boy pushed through the crowd.
Barefoot.
Soaked from the rain.
No older than twelve.
A man grabbed his arm.
“Kid, don’t!”
The boy pulled away.
And dove.
The crowd gasped.
The water swallowed him instantly.
Seconds felt like hours.
Then a hand broke the surface.
The boy.
Pulling the woman toward shore.
People rushed forward.
Helping them onto the rocks.
The woman was coughing.
Shaking.
Alive.
Everyone cheered.
Then she noticed something hanging around the boy’s neck.
A silver necklace.
Her face lost all color.
Because she knew exactly who it belonged to.
She grabbed it with trembling hands.
And whispered:
“Where did you get this?”
The boy looked confused.
“My mother gave it to me.”
The woman stopped breathing.
Because that necklace belonged to the man who had saved her life twenty years earlier.

PART 2
The crowd remained silent.
Rain continued falling.
The woman stared at the necklace.
Unable to look away.
Then she turned it over.
And found the engraving.
The same initials.
The same date.
There was no mistake.
The boy watched nervously.
Then the woman started crying.
Because the man who owned that necklace had disappeared years ago.
Everyone believed he was dead.
The boy slowly reached into his pocket.
And pulled out a folded photograph.
The woman unfolded it.
Her knees nearly gave out.
Because the man standing beside the boy was the same man everyone had buried fifteen years ago.
Then she noticed a message written on the back.
“If my son finds you first… tell him the truth.”
