PART 2: THE LITTLE GIRL WOULDN’T STOP CRYING… THEN THE MAYOR SAW THE LOCKET

PART 1

The bakery door slammed open.

Cold wind rushed inside.

A young boy carrying a crying little girl stepped through the doorway.

Customers turned immediately.

The children looked exhausted.

Hungry.

Lost.

The bakery owner sighed.

“Kids, where are your parents?”

The boy didn’t answer.

He was too busy comforting the little girl.

Then something slipped from her hand.

A small golden locket.

It hit the floor.

CLINK.

Everyone looked down.

Most people ignored it.

But one man didn’t.

The mayor had just entered the bakery.

And the moment he saw the locket—

He froze.

Because he recognized the symbol engraved on it.

A symbol connected to a woman who had vanished nearly twenty years ago.

The mayor slowly picked it up.

His hands shaking.

“Who gave you this?”

The little girl wiped away her tears.

And whispered:

“My mommy.”

The mayor turned pale.

Because the woman she was talking about had been declared dead years ago.

PART 2

The mayor carefully opened the locket.

Inside was a tiny photograph.

His breath caught instantly.

The photograph showed him standing beside the missing woman.

Years ago.

Before she disappeared.

Then he discovered a folded note hidden behind the picture.

The handwriting was unmistakable.

The note contained only one sentence:

“If my daughter finds you first, leave the meeting immediately.”

The mayor looked at his watch.

Because an important meeting was about to begin.

Then the boy pointed through the bakery window.

And a black car had just stopped outside.
