PART 1
The ballroom sparkled beneath crystal chandeliers while wealthy guests danced slowly across polished marble floors.
Music echoed softly through the enormous estate.
Champagne glasses shimmered beneath golden light.
And near the back hallway—
Elena scrubbed wine stains from the floor on her knees.
Her gray cleaning uniform looked painfully out of place beside the luxury around her.
Several guests glanced toward her.
Then quickly looked away again.
Like humiliation was easier when nobody acknowledged it.
Standing nearby—
wearing a silver designer gown—
was Camila.
Beautiful.
Cold.
Smiling just enough to hurt.
— “Make sure the floor shines before the investors leave.”
Elena lowered her head silently.
Then suddenly—
the ballroom doors opened.
And billionaire Rafael DeLuca walked inside unexpectedly.
Applause spread immediately across the room.
But Rafael stopped walking the second he noticed Elena kneeling on the marble floor with cleaning cloths beside her.
His expression changed instantly.
The music continued awkwardly now.
Guests slowly noticed something was wrong.
Rafael walked directly toward Elena.
Ignoring everyone else.
— “Rafael, sweetheart, don’t ruin the mood—”
— “Why is she cleaning the ballroom during the party?”
Nobody answered.
Elena kept staring downward.
Trying not to cry.

PART 2
The ballroom slowly fell silent.
Even the orchestra stopped playing.
Rafael crouched slightly beside Elena now.
Close enough to notice her shaking hands.
RAFAEL:
— “Did someone force you to do this?”
Elena closed her eyes immediately.
Camila laughed nervously behind him.
CAMILA:
— “Oh please, she volunteered—”
RAFAEL:
— “I asked her.”
Camila stopped speaking instantly.
Guests exchanged uncomfortable looks nearby.
Elena finally looked up.
Her eyes were red from holding back tears too long.
ELENA:
— “She said people like me belong on the floor… not at the table.”
A sharp silence spread across the ballroom.
Rafael slowly stood again.
His entire face tightening.
Then Elena whispered something else.
Something nobody there expected.
— “…because your daughter calls me mom.”
The ballroom physically froze.
One violin player lowered his instrument completely.
Camila went pale instantly.
Rafael stared at Elena in total disbelief.
Because suddenly—
the little girl upstairs refusing to leave Elena’s side finally made sense.
And the party stopped mattering at all.
